Leonard Porter Studio has been commissioned to paint a large altarpiece for St. Mary Catholic Church in Norwalk, CT as part of a larger renovation project designed by Duncan G. Stroik Architect, LLC. The project features interior decorative painting by John Canning & Co. LTD.


The project calls for a 13.5 x 7 foot altarpiece in oil depicting the Assumption of the Virgin with the apostles and angels. The finished painting will be installed within a 27 foot reredos behind the altar.

Installation is planned for mid to late 2013. A 3/16th scale modello has been prepared as well as numerous other sketches and prepartory works. This page will be updated periodically throughout the project with new images.
